2005 Chicago Auto Show Coverage

International's family of trucks present in Chicago also included the commercial pre-production prototype MXT. Derived from a military chassis, the MXT has the same distinctive International grille and crewcab as the rest of the XT family, but wears a more aggressive design with headlights integrated into the front fenders, rough terrain tires, low step-in height, 7-foot low-side pickup bed, and 4x4 capability. GVW range is 14,000 pounds, with a payload capacity of 4 tons, and a towing capacity of up to 10 tons. Initial versions will be available in late 2005 for use in military and government applications, such as by the U.S. border patrol, with a commercial variant targeted for production in 2006.
